There are a few companies that manufacture racks that can handle the length and weight of cargo bikes. Weâve listed a few examples below. When looking for rack that fits your cargo bike, there are a few things you should be aware of:Â
- Do not transport an electric cargo bike on a vehicle with the battery installed. Remove the battery and carry it inside the vehicle.
- Always make sure to check with your local and state laws regarding the use of hitch-mounted racks.
Here are three ways to transport your cargo bike:
Transporting a Cargo Bike Using a Hitch-Mounted Cargo Bike Rack
Cargo bike-specific racks are designed to meet the specifications of cargo bikes. Not only will cargo bike racks ensure that your bike fits (given its greater weight and longer wheelbase), but it will provide enough space for your bikeâs sideboards or kickstand.
