I can’t say enough good things about this bike! It has changed our lives and enabled us to ditch our second car. The kids (ages 1 and 4) absolutely love cruising around. With such a low center of gravity, it’s very stable and easy to ride. It’s much easier for my wife than a traditional bike with a child seat installed behind the rider. The sturdy kickstand makes loading up the little ones a breeze. I couldn’t tip it over if I tried.

I LOVE THIS BIKE! my wife and I decided to purchase our electric supermarche and get rid of a car. It has been a great decision, we have so much fun with it! We ride it to the beach full of all our beach stuff, grocery shopping is actually fun now, bar hopping minus the scare of driving, plus the savings of not taking an Uber, with the fun of riding a bike! Yes it was expensive, but it’s something we will have forever, and when we have kids, we will upgrade from putting a cooler full of beer in the basket to a seat for the nino!

We have some old dogs. One of them is practically fossilized. But they still love the beach and outdoors. When they hear the kickstand on this thin go up they are suddenly 5 years younger. So are we.

We originally purchased the Electric Supermarche and loved it so much that two days later we purchased the Spicy Curry. Both bikes have been fantastic, but I’ll focus on the benefits of the Electric Supermarche. First of all, it’s a ridiculous amount of fun to ride. It brings us so much joy to load up the family and discover new places around town. Everyone who sees us smiles and gives an enthusiastic thumbs up. Be prepared to add a buffer time to your outings as people will love to ask you questions about the bike or comment about how fun it looks. My husband calls the bike “the smile maker.” While it is super fun to ride, it is also surprisingly easy to handle. The weight is balanced well and the shifting is a dream. The electric assist is worth every penny – it makes any hill seem like a flat road. We purchased this bike to be a fun outing activity, but it has surprisingly become a car replacement for us. If you have kids, be prepared to take them for rides Every. Single. Day. We have a 6-year-old and a 3-year-old who are absolutely in love with this bike. They immediately named it Tuk Tuk and started adorning it with accessories. We have the Bamboo Box Seat Kit and they have festooned it with lights, decorations, nap blankets, snacks, and a bugle horn. It has been become a mobile fort on wheels. 🙂

This bike is fairly long and heavy. Yet, the frame is stiff and there is no noticeable flex even when the bike is loaded. The weight is not a factor thanks to the electric assist. We live on top of a hill and have to climb about 500 ft to get home. We used to sweat to get home on our tandem but on this bike we can spin easily up while maintaining a decent speed. This is possible even with the assist set at next to minimum. Steering is light and responsive, Brakes provide ample stopping power. The Enviolo hub gear has enough range to cover most climbs. We use the bike for grocery shopping and take our four year old granddaughter to the parks. She has a blast every time she gets on the bike.

The Supercargo CL is my new favorite bicycle. It is my favorite way to travel, especially pedaling through the neighborhood with my 21-month-old daughter securely seated on the bamboo box seat. While the nearest park is merely two blocks from our home, we prefer to ride there, meandering to and from. The add-ons are plentiful and versatile. Of course, there is ample cargo space, which carries groceries, kids and more. After you purchase yours, be prepared to have conversations with curious observers.
The price is highly competitive. While I prefer better components – for example, tighter tolerances for components such as the seat post and its clamp – I think my hard-earned money was well spent on the aluminum frame, AXA lights, Bosch system, Magura disc brakes, novel steering system, Schwalbe tires and Shimano drivetrain. I recommend replacing the fenders, grips, handlebar, saddle and the aforementioned seat post and seat post clamp. Thankfully, the mostly non-proprietary parts allow for replacement. Originally, I intended to purchase a Load 75 by R & M. However, for approximately half the MSRP, the Supercargo CL is functionally comparable, and I have a generous budget for a personalized parts selection.

I put 40 miles on this bike daily as part of a commute. I use it to haul dive gear, including tanks, inflatable paddle boards, and anything else that fits in the bucket (including my wife)! This bike has revolutionized how I get around – it’s so awesome! A few minor suggestions:
– A cargo box that locks (for when I’m underwater).
– A two-battery option. I currently have to batteries and swap them out – easy to do – but it would be way easier if with Busch’s two-battery system.
– Not sure if this was in the build instructions or if the bike shop just did this, but my seat post was greased, so my seat slowly lowers as I ride. By the time I’m at work, I’m low riding.
– Gears are a little sticky.
Those are very minor gripes, and I want to reiterate that I’m in love with what we have named the Shifting Paradigm. So, to balance it out, here are some things I was worried about before I bought it and my thoughts after more than 500 miles:
– Riding in the front cargo bucket is actually pretty comfy!
– The handling does take a little getting used to, being so long and heavy, but it is a very comfortable ride! Yes, the cables do stretch a little bit with time, but even with a little play the bike handles fine. I could make them tight again with the barrel adjusters, but I don’t feel like it since the bike handles well even with a heavy load.
– The e-assist is AWESOME even with a load! It’s like having robolegs, or riding downhill wherever you go.
So, yeah, five stars. This thing is awesome. If you’re thinking about buying one, just do it.

This bike was everything I hoped it would be and more. I was able to fit 10 large photographs in frames and deliver them to a studio, When I picked up my Yuba, which I have named The Terra Rider inspired by ST: Voyager’s Delta Flyer, I put my Surly LHT into the cargo area and biked home through the snow with no problems.
Not that I often felt limited in my range with my LHT as I have literally biked across continents on her, the ease in which I can now travel around the Twin Cities really opens up my world in new and wonderful ways.
Biggest Complaints so far: I haven’t figured out how to rename my bike in the App. I don’t want to see “Yuba” under the name. I want to read The Terra Rider.
