This is our very first cargo bike, and I’m sorry we waited this long to get one! We are so happy with our beautiful Sweet Curry!

We could not foresee using our car to get to school every day. It would have killed our battery, wasted gas, and I want to stay far away from that drop-off line! It’s been amazing for school drop off and pick up! We get lots of looks and comments. hah

Our 5-year-old loves riding!! We hear lots of hoots and hollers every day.

Like I said, I wish we would have gotten this thing a few years ago!

Sweet indeed!

Me: 5’1/2″, 112lbs, 27″ inseam
Cargo: 2 kids (3 & 7) + misc
Environment: Suburban (outside of Chicago)
Use case: Hauling kid(s) within 7-8 mile radius around town. Basic transportation for myself.
Accessories: Adjustable Monkey Bars, Yepp Maxi Easyfit, Bread Basket, Bamboo Sideboards, Soft Spot Padded Seat, Standalone Kickstand
Previous haulers: Yepp mini and Burley trailer on single speed

I spent a lot of time doing research on cargo bikes, and in the end, the Sweet Curry seemed to best fit my needs. My first ride was without a load and it was a seamless transition (more like riding a heavier and very sturdy mountain bike).

My first loaded ride (15 lbs in basket, 80-90 lbs in the rear) took a bit of getting used to and I did a LOT of wobbling. It probably took about a month to steady myself and get used to the balance. I’m still getting used to it but it’s much easier going now.

The major plus is that the kids love it. While they aren’t in front where I can see them, I do love that they are close by and connected to me, unlike the trailer that I used to haul. The 3 year old used to do a lot of terrified screaming when I wasn’t moving because she was afraid she would fall, but she has gradually acclimated to it. When we’re moving, she doesn’t seem to have any problems. The 7 year old ADORES riding on it.

It is very sturdy and I have had no issues hauling the kids with backpacks and a 20 lbs stroller bungied to the back.

My only gripes are that 1) the Stand-alone Kickstand is not standard and 2) some of the add-ons seem over-priced. The quality of the add-ons are first rate, although a washer was missing from one add-on and a one of the screws was the wrong size/gauge on another.

Customer service has been professional, friendly and prompt in answering my questions. All in all, I’m looking forward to many more years of fun with my Sweet Curry!

I highly recommend that anyone try this bike before they buy it. I was continually hitting or rubbing my feet and legs on the upper stays. I couldn’t adjust my position enough to clear them. I have to ride pigeon toed or with my feet on the outer edge of the pedals. Both are not comfortable for long.

If you can get it to work for you, it seems like a nice bike. I like the expandable upper cargo area and the frame mounted basket is nice. The frame is very stiff even with an awkward load so it behaves predictably.

Solid way to carry a ton of stuff. My kids enjoy the ride and are upset when we actually have to take a car somewhere.

I love the lighter and stiffer feel of the new Sweet Curry. The rear cargo bags are legit and can accommodate grocery/home goods runs with no issues. 2 kids fit comfortably and with the new lower center of gravity the bike feels much more stable laterally. Disc brakes are great. I upgraded the crank/chain ring. I wish it had a chain guard. Great bike.

As fun to ride as it is utilitarian, the Sweet Curry bike is a pedal-powered take on our beloved Spicy Curry electric cargo bike. With a similar durable aluminum frame design and 20-inch rear wheel for extra rider control under load, the Sweet Curry is easy to handle and takes turns well.
