Today, Yuba Bicycles revealed their solution to help bike lovers get where they need to go, in style. The newly launched Boda Boda Cargo Cruiser, takes its name from the ubiquitous bicycle taxis in Africa that reunite lovers separated by distance. Similar to its namesake, Yuba’s Boda Boda Cargo Cruiser is no lightweight when it comes to hauling. Giving a friend a lift or scoring a couple of flats of strawberries at the farmer’s market – this aluminum bike neatly fills the gap between classic townies and mega-hauler cargo bikes.
“We are committed to designing and manufacturing bikes for ordinary people to ride everyday.” Said Leif Bansner, one of Yuba’s designers. “We wanted to make a bike that would enable people to get their kid to school, take someone out on the town or pick up a week’s worth of groceries, yet still be light enough to carry upstairs to an apartment.”
The Boda Boda Cargo Cruiser has an MSRP of $999, and will be available to consumers in July. An electric version will be available and retails for $2,697.
