Built solid. I’m a 250lb guy who used to work in a bike shop a lifetime ago. Every part of the Mundo Electric is spec’d for maximum durability. Perfect for urban exploring with the kids, or just taking them an errands or school. I’ve had mine just a few weeks, but have ridden it a lot, both solo and with the kids, over rough urban streets, gravel paths, and steep hills, without any issues.
Handling is good, but you certainly feel the weight of the kids. And if your kids are real squirmy, it can be hard to handle if they are shifting their weight to one side or the other. I imagine my wife might have a harder time with their shifting weight (since she’s 100lbs less than I am). And mounting or dismounting the bike while you have kids in the back definitely takes a little practice.
But overall, very impressed by the build and happy with my purchase!

I have my Mundo electric since a month: it has revolutionized our life in NYC. Commutes were annoying, long and not to mention that my 2yo and 5yo were usually quite bored/annoyed. Now, every morning and afternoon we use the bike for a long commute to the school: it’s an adventure, we are all happy to get out of the house and above all, i feel very safe! The ride is smooth and stable, i do not arrive exhausted to my workplace (i am not the fittest 😉 ) and we started well our day. If I only had known earlier!!

We absolutely love our Mundo Electric! As a family of 5 with kids ranging from 13 to 3 years old, we use it in a variety of ways. I ride it to pickup and drop off kids at school and extra-curriculars. We also tow our 3yo’s bike on family rides to our favorite spots where he can ride safely on flats. Our older 2 love hanging on behind it on their skateboards. It’s great for quick jaunts to the beach with chairs and towels on the back. Lastly, I’ve taken my wife out to dinner a couple of times on it which is super fun! We couldn’t be happier with the purchase; it definitely changed our life for the better!

Love the electric Mundo. Sold our second car and bought the Mundo last month. I use it for all my errands (including shopping for Thanksgiving with a 25lbs turkey) and commuting to work (11 miles with hills). The commute is a pure joy on the bike. I can average just over 18 miles an hour and don’t break a sweat. My wife uses it for errands as well and even had it out in the first snow of the season.
Since my wife can comfortably sit on the integrated tail rack, we ride together often to grab coffee or go to dinner. We even took the bike to the theatre.
In short, the bike is a workhorse, easily replacing a car, and is a joy to ride.

The Mundo Electric is the bike I love to ride. I take it everywhere. It’s the 5-ton 24ft straight bodied truck of the bike world. I pack my two kids to school and daycare, plus my oldest’s 20″ wheeled bike. Our commute home involves a 300 m elevation gain over 8 km and only takes 20 mins on the e-cargo bike! This ride takes a fit cyclist on a good road bike 30 mins. My kids love riding on the back, and we get a lot of complements and questions.
I have 580 km on the odometer now. The 10 speed Shamino SLX mountain bike drivetrain shifts incredibly well under full load, and the motor pulls hard and does all the heavy lifting. I get two fully loaded trips up the hill for about 20 km of full boost range. Keep in mind, this is a long grind of a hill with two kids on the back. On the flats the battery easily carries me 80+km. The hydraulic magura brakes are strong enough to stop a freight train, and the tires inspire confidence in the corners and on the hard stops. The oversized steel frame rides super smooth and is as stable as a mountain goat.
This bike has been a true car replacement for us. I’ve taken it to Costco and loaded it up on two separate trips now! Costco even has a burly bike rack right at the front door so I get the best parking spot on the lot! I’ve packed home two 40 lb bags of kitty litter without breaking a sweat. The go-getter bag is an excellent addition to the bike and a must for grocery trips. People even comment on the bag being a nice looking cooler bag, although I’m not sure it is, it is just really well built. The long rack is even long enough to fit my 184 cm skis on, with a bit hanging off the back of course.
I have to dock the rating a star though :(. The seat post Clamp is the achilles of this bike. Even the clamp itself is ok, but the little plastic shim between the quick release lever and the clamp body disintegrates after the third time tightening the seat. For such an expensive bike why cheap out on such an easy part to upgrade? I ended up going through my random buck-o-bolts and found a thin 2 cent stainless steel washer to act as a new shim. Yuba, just spend the extra 2 cents and put a brass or stainless steel shim on the clamp! The oversize tubing on the bike also means the seat post clamp is a rare size, so good luck finding a replacement at the local bike shop.
Overall, I couldn’t be happier with this bike. It is my first choice to get somewhere, and I’m feeling extra smug (and relief) that it arrived just as gas prices spiked.
